The benefits of the great outdoors are indisputable; exploring the woodland that surrounds the famous Aysgarth Falls and trekking through the surrounding valley will play a role in helping you reconnect with yourself and the earth we live on. We aim to create an experience that leaves you feeling grounded and grateful for your body, soul and the environment we live in.
The fitness sessions on your stay will comprise of rural hikes or runs (depending on fitness levels) and outdoor group circuits in the grounds of the stunning Stow House. We accommodate all abilities and ensure each guest gets the most from their sessions with our expert trainer. Whether it’s weight loss, general fitness, mobility or more, we can help you get there.
The food you will enjoy whilst staying with us follows a largely vegetarian style of eating with a focus on nourishing your body and soul. We not only want you to enjoy the physical benefits of eating well, but the mental ones too. Many of our clients have ‘fallen out of love’ with food due to confusion around what they should and shouldn’t be eating! The Balanced Life is all about what you can eat, where to source it and how to cook it to get maximum health benefits and amazing flavours. Our food is carefully put together to ensure you get enough nutrients for your personal needs and will show you just how delicious healthy eating can be.
Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness
The Balanced Life retreats encourage you to develop a greater connection with body, mind and the earth we live on; to help you achieve this we use both physical and mental practices to create space in the mind and relax the body. When weather permits, yoga practice takes place on the lawns overlooking the stunning valley of Wensleydale, if it’s a little blustery we take things into the cosy snug to work on meditation and mindfulness techniques. Here you will learn how to focus the mind using breathing techniques and work on mindfulness exercises to create a positive, productive outlook on life.
Our wonderful therapist will be on hand to provide a selection of treatments for you to choose from. One 30 minute treatment per guest is included in the package price, however if you would like to upgrade to a longer treatment this is available at an extra cost.
